damsel behavior question

I have a question on damsel behavior.
I have a domino damsel and a yellow damsel. I've had yellows before and this one has the body shape of a chromis and isn't very aggressive.
Anyway, I have watched them together and think that their behavior is indicative of pairing off. The yellow will get into a rock crevice and shake, kinda, the domino will go horizontal above her and shake also. She will come a bit out of the crevice and he'll repeat his behavior. There is no chase and biting aggression involved, so I'm inclined to think it's some sort of breeding behavior.
Anyone know?:notsure:

My thinking is that it's a show of dominance, my yellow tail does the same thing to my sixline and firefish.

This is just the beginning of a terrible relationship. The two are jockeying for dominance and soon they will terrorize the tank and each other.
enjoy.

The yellow is just telling the domino thats his hole. Stay out.The domino is showing it gets the message but hes no punk either. I had a yellow tail damsel that would do this everytime someone passed his whole. My royal gramma does it now and the other fish respond the same way.

Thanks for the info. I do plan on removing the damsels since I'd like other fish in there. I like the domino, he's got personality.
My royal gramma will open his mouth really wide at my clown fish (different tank) in a dominance, "see how big I am" display.
Cracks me up!
