Damsel with white dust on him

ok i have a 5 gal nano tank its been running for about 6 mos now, had problems with it a couple of months ago but now it is ok.....so i got a damsel, a green chromis, a porcelin crab, 3 blue legs (2 were still in there so a total of 5), and 2 new feather dusters......well now my black and white damsel has what appears to be a fine white dusting on it.....and hes not coming out of his hole.....i don't have a qt tank i didn't know i was a good idea to have one until i joined this site about a week ago......what should i do!!!!! please help the fish stores will close soon.....AAAH!

Can you describe this "dust" more specifically? Is the fish breathing heavy?
WO a Qt not much you can do.

its a fine "dusting" some bigger than others and yes he's breathing VERY heavy now..... I just came back from the fish store and the guy said try the garlic method because the fish should have a good immune system.....but I came in the room and he doesn't have his dusting anymore, and he's laying on his side in the hole breathing heavy.....should I try a water change?? I usually do about 1/2 to sometime a gal of water weekly is that too much of a change?? :help:

Well nevermind I woke up this morning and found the damsel dead along with a blue legs........
