i want to catch my damsel out of my 30gal but he is too smart!
i tried little hooks, he didnt even come close to it. i tried feeding to try to bring him to the top of the tank so i could net him out but he is too fast. i just got a pygmy angel fish and a couple of yellow gobys and it wont let them breathe. he keeps on attaching them. im afraid that he will make them jump out of the tank or cause them too much stress.
please is there any way i could get that evil fish out?

yeah them little guys suck as they can be mean and territorial. Bigger net? fish trap? I know it's not an easy task in front of you.

I have heard of people taking a two liter soda bottle and cutting the top off and turning the top inside out and putting food in the inside and the fish will swim in the little hole to get the food and wont be able to get out as easliy.... If that makes any sense...

i cant get the fish to come out its always in between the rocks and i have really loose rocks that fall over and it took me like 3 months to make it just the way i want so a net wont work. + when it sees a net it swims behind the rocks.

"Fishing" usually works; but if it didn't, search this site for "fish traps'. He'll probably be spooked for a couple days, so I wouldn't feed the tank for a while, then try the fish trap. Sale of damsels should be limited to people with large lionfish or groupers.

No, there should be a warranty attached, and the LFS has to come get them back if they 'break down'.
As for how to make a fish trap:
1. Cut a soda bottle one inch down from where the neck meets the barrel. You should end up witha funnel, and a cup.
2. Rotate the funnel 180 degrees, and shove it back into the cup. It should fit snugly, so the fish can't go around it.
3. Put food inside the contraption, so that the fish has to swim through the top of the bottle to get to it, and then can't figure out how to get back out.
4. Be prepared to release every other fish in the tank that will get caught in the trap, including fish that shouldn't be able to physically fit through the hole.
