both sets of damsels are very territorial and will eventually beat up your clowns. The problem with small tanks is that there isnt enough space for all the fish you want to live peacefully. 8 gallons per fish is it and i would leave it at that unless you get something like a small goby or blenny. Adding more to a tank just because it looks empty is setting yourself up for failure. Especially choosing fish that are very territorial when the get older.

I would not suggest any damsels, with the excception of mabey some chromis. I had three and they were BAAAAD
. Then when they turn, and they will, you have to figure out how to get the dang things out
. I would sugest mabey a firefish. I just got one and man is this thing cool. The colors are bold and vivid. He dosen't mind comming right out in the open. Caution, they are fast and they can jump like superman. You might try several peppermint shrimp, they are always moving around. Also hermits are very active and most are colorfull and reef friendly. One note on the fire fish, only one per tank unless they are a mated pair,(very unlikely to find).

In a 20 gallon, the last thing that you want is two more territorial fish. I would say only one more fish, but if you get two smaller fish that are not territorial than you may be alright. How about a goby or a blennie? How long ago did you get the clowns?

One of each. 4 fish, even small ones, is over max for a 20 gallon. Three is pushing it. Be sure to be on top of water quality. Your clowns will grow. I wouldn't buy any more fish yet. Get some inverts. They can be very entertaining. How long ago did you upgrade to the 20? How did you move everything?

My fish store Fairmount aquarium where i bought them from put them in there tank for me until i was situated. it was a long process and alot of gas. i had to buy a new tank stand also. It is a different kind of stand i guess. It hold the tank by the sides. Pretty sturdy.

Did your 20 ever cycle? How did you acclimate the fish back in? How much rock is in the 20? Was it from the 14? How long did it take after you filled the 20 before you put the clowns in?

I have two firefish that I purchased at seperate times, and they took to eachother right away. Are they aggresive to eachother if theyre not mated? I read that youre supposed to get a couple of them because theyre community fish. What I read may be wrong though.

everything I have read says one per tank. I think that as they mature one becomes dominant and picks on the rest. My LFS said that you can put more than one together. I try to err on the side of caution. I hope you have great success with they. I went through the whole damsel fish terrorist thing and I hate comeing home and wondering who has been beat up today. You might have the magic pair, stranger things have happened, these threads are full of people who have crazy things living together

If you go on this site and click on firefish goby at the bottom it states "The Dartfish family of fish are majestic little fish with an elongated body. They have long dorsal fins and small upturned mouths. This family of fish is usually found in pairs or small groups." I have read this on at least two different sites. I'm not saying I'm right, however this is a very good site and I tend to believe them.

I care; I'm a sensitive, touchy-feely type of guy! Quite possible a mated, or pre-mated pair. Nice fish! And the RG isn't hiding!
