i have 2 yellow tailed damsels(i think thats the name) and one yellow damsel in my 45 g tank. the tank is like 2 months old. just had those in there for cycling. i am going to take those out eventually cause i know they are agressive. What i want to know is, will they bother cleaner shrimp or lawnmower blennies?

damsels are very territorial but provided you move your live rock around and you don't add fish smaller than them or that resemble them they will be fine. adequate space (no overstocking) would also be a good idea, but that goes for any kind of fish.

If you plan on buying more rock, I'd get those damsels out asap since they are so hard to catch. I had damsels and a lmb in the beginning and they all got along fine. My lmb would eat hair algea (he craved it), but he wouldn't touch it if it was longer than 0.5 inch. Once you remove the damsels you will like how the rest of your fish and inverts hang out in the open more. It may not appear like it, but those damsels intimidate everything.

damsels are mean little suckers. even the blue yellow tail ones. I had that kind and it didnt bother my shrimp but my poor clownfish was almost harrassed to death. Had to get him a sea anename wich means I had to upgrade my lights so stupid 5.99 damsel cost me a fortune
