dark tips on colt coral

My bubble coral recently died (I think) and I'm worried that whatever killed him may be on my colt coral. Do these dark tips mean anything?

how much light are your corals under?
My colts tips turn dark when the branch gets covered by another, meaning the branch is not getting enough light.

4x65 pc. So maybe it's not important?

My colt will exhibit dark tips when it is getting ready to shed. Any evidence of this yet on yours?

I didn't notice any shedding, didn't even know they did that. The dark tips seem to be mostly gone though. Otherwise he looks healthy and has grown a lot since I've had him (a few months).
