here is day 3, still a little cloudy but clearing up nice, dont worry......the powerheads are going to be moved to the back once i can see a little better. i bought 4 seio M1500's but i think i am only going to use 2 or 3 of them, with 2 there is a lot of flow. the only thing that sux is i know it is going to cloud back up when i go to move my rocks where i want them. but what do you guys think so far?

Looks great!
I see you chose the suction cup configuration to hold your Seio's. Make sure you have your power cables tight. When one of those lose suction and drop, it will stir everything up. It's not a matter of will it, but a matter of when.....

yes, i chose the suction cup mount because it is positional and the hanging mount just sits in one position, this way i can point them where i want

I understand your reasoning behind the choice. I have never had anything using suction cups that has ever held long term.... I have two Seio's in my 120 and they aren't the big 1500's, but they put out a nice wide wave. I have had MJ 1200's, heaters, and other PHs drop and tear things up before. It was more of a word of caution than anything. I have MJs in my 75 gal and have the power cables tight to the hood after many previous drops.
Suction cups are only a tempory way to secure... They only fail when you're not home to catch it right away.

do you guys think i should take the 2 seio M1500's out until the cloudiness goes away and i rescape my rocks? is seems like it is keeping the stuff suspended longer having them in there????

looks like you are on your way to one nice tank. I had some with suction cups as well they get hard and don't hold long mine are just hanging from the cords now. I just ordered 3 new maxijets 1200 from my freind big Al. I will replace the ones in my 75 with those when they get here. I would leave them all in there the more flow the beter.

I just set up my 75 and I had my power heads on at first, but I found the cloudyness went away faster with them not on.

yes but wont the setemlent on the live rock stir up and recloud the tank if the power heads are left off and the sand setels on the rock.

If you know where you are going to be keeping the power heads permanently you can put a dab of silicone on each suction cup and that will keep it secure. I ended up doin that with my 802's. I have 4 of them in my tank...haven't had one fall yet. The four I have in there have been in the same place for the past 2 years.

that sounds like a good idea did you do it with water in the tank?

Yup. I had 4 of those cheap old Rio powerheads in the tank and they would fall in the middle of the night and I'd wake up with sand blowing all over the tank. Silicone is great in that it will cure in the water. Just make sure that you scrape the area real well where you're going to put it so that it makes good contact with the glass.

I'd use the aquarium type because it usually says something about being safe for use in aquariums...meaning while they are inhabited by small expensive creatures.
