DC's new 12g Aquapod nano reef setup

So I decided to order a 12g Aquapod. It will serve as a reef since my 55 is a FOWLR. I will update this thread with pics when it arrives, and I begin to set it up.
The equipment I am using is the stock filtration/light :). Koralia 1, and some type of fuge somewhere.
Live stock will consist of a pair of clowns, normal clean up crew, and of course corals :). Mainly going with rics ,zoos, and other types of mushrooms.
My only concern is I really want to put a fuge in somewhere. Any advice/suggestions on where it can go?

You could get a hang on one. Or just have power head attaced to some pvc. The pvc goes over the tank into a refuge by/in the stand then the a little more powerful one to push the water back. Or just put a plexy glass box in the tank with a few holes in it.

google "aqua clear fuge diy aquapod" (without the quote marks) and you should find some threads on how to make a decent hang on one.

you get get the same cheap one I did, buy the azoo razzle dazzle aquarium kit from fish dot com for 10.50 or something like that and the light should be perfect.

The fuge will have cheato and LR rubble in it. Will that light be enough? If not, which light would be my best bet? I was looking at the Azoo LED ones.

Yeah that light will be enough. It's actually brighter and a better size for your tank. The led is also the wrong spectrum for a fuge.

Ok I pretty much have everything figured out just waiting for stuff to arrive. Im going to take the rubble and cheato for the fuge from my fuge in my 55gal. My question is how can I take some of the cheato since it grows in a tangled up ball? Can I cut it?

So the tank came today, still waiting for some additional stuff. My question now is, how can I make a HOB fuge or anything with the full hood on it? Im new with the "all in one tank" :) Thanks.

I thought you were going to remove the hood and use a sunpod or something, sorry. I only way a HOB fuge will work is to remove the hood or cut holes in it. I have no expierience with that, always went the sunpod route.
You can just pull the chaeto apart, it shouldn't be fragile if healthy.

Im eventually going to get a sunpod or viper, but for now the stock hood is staying. Any other ideas for a fuge?

i've never seen the 12g in person, but i just did an internal fuge in my 24. pics are on my build thread in the nano section

hmm, I might be able to still have the HOB filter/fuge and just leave the hood a little tilted upwards. Im not too sure if I completely like that though.

I guess thats what Im going to have to do for now. Will one of the 10watts be enough? Do you think they will be ok, because I have heard of them blowing out power to the entire tank. Thanks for the help so far everyone, I really appreciate it.

i havent seen anything bad going wrong with them... Could be wrong tho, to be safe i would get the Duel 10w light.. one for on top and bottom of cheato

I think you can scrape the back off of the middle chamber and attach/direct any light you want to that area. It is just paint or a sticker or something. I've seen this done, I just don't know if it is an aquapod.
