Dead Coral

It looks like I lost my elegant coral :(
This is the first time I have lost a coral. What should I do with it? What are my choices?
All my other corals are fine and I have tested my water and it is also fine. I think I lost it because it fell from the rock it was placed on originaly and when I put it back I put to close to another coral. But I am really not sure why I lost it.

I think I lost mine too. :(
Most will say to remove the skeleton before the decaying coral fouls the water. I am debating on doing this right now. I can still see the mouths on my specimin, so I am still hesitant to admit that it is gone. I am wondering how I know for sure that it is dead?

Well, elagence corals are pretty sensitive. They usually require a mature tank and most need to be acclimated to light. Plus alot of people do not know to feed them. I have killed two nice elagence corals. Both were huge and were neon green with bright purple tips. I have there skelatons bleached a sitting on my desk.
Sorry to hear about the loss. But I would remove it. It can cause a spike as wellas put a nasty slime build in your tank.
Cyn, if you can you should dip your coral(coral dip). Then really baby it. I'v seen peoplr really turn a dying coral around!! Good luck. Click Here To See My Reef. :)

Kent Marine makes a coral dip. It's concentrated iodine and other stuff. But do not make it yourself!!! You just dillute as instructed on the bottle. Place your coral in the container you have the dip in. Then wait 7 min and pull him out and put him back in your tank.

I did dip it when I got it home. I have decided today that it is gone too. I guess I will wait a while before I try another elegance. This one was not opening at the LFS, but opened nicely the day after I put it in the tank. I placed it in the tank under acintic only for an hour, shut down the lights and waited untill the next day before I brought up the regular lighting. My tank is and has been very stable since November, so I thought it would work. Every other coral I have added has done well. I guess it is time to do more studying on the elusive elegance.

Oh, and I feed all of my corals, some direct others I let filter feed. I use DT's, Marine snow, Golden Pearls and brine soaked in Zoe.
Stumped,
