Dead emerald crab

I woke up with the hermit crabs attached to the emerald crab. I thought that maybe the crab was already dead and the hermits are just doing there job, and then looked a little closer and the crab was still moving slowly. I moved the crab to a different LR. I came back later to find the emerald upside down in the tank. My question is, Did the hermits kill the emerald? Should I get rid of the hermits? One is a little bigger than a quarter and the other about the size of a half doller.

Brown hermits? Blue dwarfs? What kind of hermits...the little ones are somewhat aggressive...but small enough to just keep an eye on...the bigger ones are aggressive and have the butt to toss their aggressiveness around.

Not very good pics. I have to figure out how to take better pics through the glass. I hope this helps. I would really like to know if I should get of rid of these guys.

nah keep them....
If you just got the emerald then several things could have happened. He could have starved, acclimated improperly, or tried to molt and was attacked.
I just bought an emerald and he just died..... No reason. My guess is he starved. Not because of my tank but from where i bought him. Nothing was in the tank for him to eat. That and he was missing an arm taht i didn't notice before i bought him.
