Dead Hippopotumus(sp?) my tank

I dont have a problem waiting. "doing stuff" is not a prob for me, i am patient. My tank did spike, its coming down now. Once it hits 0 across the board i will add a CUC and then wait a few weeks and add 2 clowns and thats prob. all i add for a month or so.
On the 55g. I dont have room for that, besides i just spent 500+ on a JBJ HQI mod so why would i even think of doing somethink diffrent. By the time i get this tank established my shop should be built and then i'll get a 300+ . My game plan the entire time has been to use this tank to learn the ins and outs of SW then build a tank for my shop. Thanks for the input everyone

To answer your question about the shrimp, I say it's a bad idea. There will most likely be a "housing" issue in a 29 gal. Plus, the fire shrimp can be aggressive if provoked and he can get up to 2", while the other guy tops out at just 1 1/2". If you're getting 2 clowns than they'll claim a part of the tank for themselves as well, leaving even less room.

You could still try it if you want but my guess is that one of them wouldn't last long, probably the sexy, and so this venture would be a waste of $$.

Also, the sexy shrimp can't tolerate fluctuations in water quality. Again, an issue with a small-er tank.
You're building a shop - a fish shop with a 300 gal tank perhaps?

I wish. Im just building a shop behind my house for my equipment and such but it is going to have a kitchen and big sitting room for partys and get togethers with freinds so i wana kinda build it around a big SW tank as the " centerpeice". Thats down the road though, gota lot to learn about this hobby but i know this i love the hobby alot.
