dead mandarin fish

really annoyed bought a mandarin fish and when I got home I noticed the fish was ill so I put him in my qurantine tank and then fungus the fungus grew huge after a couple of days he lost an eye then 4 days later he was dead took back to LFS asked for either a refund or another mandarin fish as it must have been ill in the LFS tank and he refused really annoyed me that did

It's important to ensure you only bring healthy fish home. The extra time spent closely examining your fish before leaving the store is time well spent.

And most lfs do NOT offer any "warranty" on their livestock. Only the fairly high end/dollar local fish stores & some online retailers offer any guarantee on their livestock. Also asking the lfs store to add a little food (and note what it is/get some) to the tank(s) your desired fish are in and select the ones that you see that are eating/healthy looking.

+2 make sure they eat if they don't eat for the lfs they wont eat for you. I also look for strange swimming behavior and marks or discoloring.
Sorry to here on your loss, I feel your pain.
I could never work at a pet store, they would fire me, because I couldn't sell unhealthy fish or a fish to a incorrect set up
