ok today when i woke me n the misses and son was looking at the tank all seemed well.
went out to celabrate my sons birthday today hes 1 (went off with in-laws to the beach) his real birthday is tomorro will be 2 tommorro wow time flys by.
anyway.
i came back and sat down on couch started to fall asleep n wife was like noooooooo noooooooo oh god nooo dean come look dean quick 1st instinced was son was in trouble ran over all most hitting wall.
anyway.
she was looking at fish tank.
mr.skunk has died today aka cleaner wrasse.
he was fine this morning all seemed well with him.
put my hand in tank to get water test samples n got sharp tingles i told wife to and she too had the same (possible suspect is heater might of blown)
problem is he is also damaged.
only thing in tank is 2 clown falses and him.
we have 2 hitch hikers a baby nemone and a tube worm also a baby.
thew cleaner wrasse's belly has like a damaged mark on i might be thinking that could be the clowns picking at it as food.
i've tested basic water in tank resaults are
NH3/NH4 0ppm (ammonia)
NO-2 0 ppm (nitrite)
NO-3 0 ppm (nitrate)
P.H 8.3
salt is 1.024.
the clowns seem fine at the minute and swimming happly.
i feed them flake's & freeze dried at the minute he seem to like the freeze dried more.
temp is not to high nor cold.
temp is 81.
so it's in the green
snails seem fine too.
ill keep a watch out if anyone might know a possibilty let me know.
if anyone suggests it and i've not tryed it ill try it out.
cheers

Sounds like stray voltage, like u said possibly a heater but could also be other things like powerheads, pumps, filters, ect...
Do you have a volt meter to test for stray voltage? If so stick one probe in the water and ground the other end. Then unplug each thing one by one till stray voltage goes away.
sorry for your loss

well i don't know but he could have starved. Same thing happened to me with a starfish. He was eating the algea all up looking good then one day
dead

Tested my water and everything just like you, had other fish and algea eaters in there and everything. The guy at the fish store said the only thing it could be is it starved.
It took about two maybe two and a half weeks but thats what he said. How long have you had the fish and how long has your tank been going???

i have heard that those cleaner wrasses will die without parasites to feed on. i am wondering if a mantis shrimp would kill a fish and then let it float away, instead of eat it.
even if the wrasse was seen eating some prepared foods, it doesn't necessarily mean he didn't starve.
