Dead or alive

Ok so after reading about people having success with little neck clams my Sicilian blood took over and I said its not Friday but hay linguini and clam sauce would be nice well I saved four from going into the sauce pan and burped them then put them in my tank my long winded question is this how do I know if they are still alive?

They should have buried themselves by now and you will not see them, PLEASE make sure you have a good clean up crew, because they will be the first notifiers if one dies, you will see a mob over to it..
