how do you know if your live rock or live sand dies??

no,im fine at this point .I ask because i see alot of other posts where people talk about their sand or rock dying-I was just a little concerned because i dont see the copepods on my rock like i did months ago

Well pods are nocturnal,, check at night with a flashlight covered with red celophane.. ALSO could anything n you tank be eating them? ALL of my fish LOVE to eat them. IM surprised you had all of those pods in the first place, it took me 9 months before I saw my first one.

is it good to buy them and add them to a tank-they sell them on this site and i was thinking of getting a bag of 200

Ken,, do you have a fuge? what kind of fish do you have in your display? If you had some prior, they should make a come back or become more visible. Pending on what you have in the tank to provide them refuge and to not have them eaten, I dont think adding 200 will help you..

2 damsels,1 clownfish ,1coral beauty angel , 1 cleaner shrimp , and snails.its a 45 gal tank no refug,canister filter and a skimmer,50 lbs LR and 10 lb LS

I bet you that CORAL is loving it eating those pods.. even my damsels love eating them. IF you do try propogating your tank again with pods, I suggest you do it at night a good hour after your lights have been out, to give them a shot at life.
