dead rock to live rock

I'm getting 80lbs of dead rock, How long does it take to be live again? The guy I got it from used copper medication in his tank which caused it to die.... it will turn live again right?

Curing live rock is making it safe for you tank. How you go about doing this and what exactly it does, I have no friggin idea. :notsure:
A frind of mine filled her tank with half dead rock and half live rock, and the live rock eventually seeded the dead rock so it all became live. I have a piece of rock in my tank that was once dead and is now live, because my live rocks around it seeded it.
I don't think dead rock becomes live by itself, though. I'm not positive, but I think you need to have live rock also to seed the dead rock.
