Dead rock

I have a 35gal tank that has been running for 4 months and was thinking of adding more Reef rock. Is there a cleaning process to do to the Rock prior to adding it? Iv only read on cleaning live rock. I was going to buy some dead rock to add and would like your feedback on the proper way to introduce it.

Do you mean dry rock? You just have to rinse it before you put it into your tank, the LR already in your tank will seed it...

Yes ok, they had it listed as dead lol. So rinse it off and add it, sounds good. Also will it be ok if I redesign the current rock that is in my tank?

Yes, you can do that...If it is White in color that is dry rock, You can get live rock that is shipped either cured or uncured..either way it will have to be cured before you put it in your tank...The reason why I asked if it was dry rock...

Oh ok, they sold it off the shelf. It was white in colour. I did rinse it off and there is some red and green colour in it.

Ok sounds good, thanks for the help. I have another question.... Iv been reading other posts about feeding. I want to switch for the crap I'm apparently feeding my fish to fresh stuff like shrimp. Can you use store bought table shrimp or should I buy from my LFS? I've seen what they sell and it comes in large portions. And what is the proper way to prepare it? Thanks in advance.

It might need a little more than rinsing....I'd soak it for a couple days in a container with a small PH or such, and take a phosphate reading before you add it to your system......Always better to take extra precautions.
