Dead Shroom

How do you tell if a mushroom is dead? Mine detatched itself from its rock after a few months and is floating around the tank.

if its dead, it will just disolve and be eaten by your crabs/snails.
i have lots of shrooms that "jump ship" and float around till they find a happy place and attach themselves.

yea, if its just floating around, its not dead.

Thanks for that. It is also folded in half, is that normal?

well, you cant expect it to be open when its getting pushed around in the current. if you want to keep it, just get it out of your tank and superglue it to a rock or something and put it where you want.
