ok guys probably a stupid ? do i have to remove them or are they doin any good besides ornaments at the bottom of the tank? i know they sell empty shells still new at this thanks for any replies :help:
I would remove the anything that dies in my tank so it doesn't cause my ammonia to spike and create a mini cycle. You should run some tests on your parameters to try to determine the cause of death.
Something as small as snails (unless the big Turbo's) are usuallly just a meal to other cleanup crew or fish or shrimp etc. If not too big or too many I would usually just leave them alone shouldn't cause a real need for alarm.
If its a few here and there over time I'd leave them be ... it seems I always loose a few to natural causes and the clean-up crew takes care of them in quick order...plus the biological filtration can more than handle the resulting ammonia. But...if you have massive die-offs in a short period of time I'd remove them and check/monitor your water chemistry to determine the cause.
