Some species of box fish are toxic...not poisonous. They can kill off your tank, but doesnt happen every time.
Dog Face, I'm assuming you're talking about the Puffer...those will not release toxins, killing off a tank.

All species of Puffers, Box Fish, Trunkfish, etc. have toxic flesh...meaning, it's toxic for humans to eat them. It's not meant that they'll whipe out your tank, if they die.
There are, however, some species that have been known to release those toxins, into the water column, when they die. The main culprits are yellow Cow Fish, Shaw's Boxfish and a few others, that are not commonly kept by aquarists.
I have never heard of a Spiny Box Fish releasing those toxins, killing off a tank.

FYI - the toxin in puffers is tetradotoxin, and is concentrated in a special gland. The actual levels in the tissues is pretty low. In Japan, eating properly prepared puffer is considered a delicacy because the residual tetradotoxin can produce numbness in the lips and face. If it not properly prepared, the numbness proceeds to death. Chefs who prepare puffer are licensed to do so, and deaths are relatively rare (if you die from it, then it is not so rare).

IMO, no, because it's gonna eat shrimp, crabs, hermits, snails, etc.
