I just had to tell you guys this. Im going to try and make a long story short. The basics:
saw estate sale in paper
among inventory Large fish aquarium.
went to estate sale
the guy wanted 350 for a CUSTOM built 250 gal tank including stand filtration sysem canope, lights!
I offered 200
AND HE TOOK IT!
I now I just have to figure out how the hell Im gopng to get all this home. I'll get pics soon because i have not a clue as to what i really have or how to set it up.
Did I mention he had a pool and tennis court in his yard! anyway stay tooned!

Umm.... you are in way over your head... clearly custom built 250's are impossible to maintain.
Still, I'm a very compassionate, caring, sacrificial type of person. Tell you what... I'll go ahead and pay you $200 for everything, plus say $25 for your time and trouble... Then I guess I'll just be stuck with such an horrible tank... Oh, and I'll even pick it up for you I guess.

Too funny! Turns out this guy is the founder of this chain called Long Horns. When I went to pay him he threw in a 35 gal for free! What a day! So now, I think Ill sell my 55 to get some stuff for the 250. Accually Im not 100% sure if it 250g but that's the number I heard but You be the judge. When I get it home I let you know

Great deal! I wish I could have a tank that large but I think I'd probably get thrown out of the house.
I hope you have the elbow grease to take care of it. We have a 500 gallon one at school and it takes the entire astronomy club to take care of it.

A 250 gallon tank is going to weigh 2,000 pounds. That is ONE TON!!! You best keep this sucker in the basement.

nice deal what kinda tank you going to do and you could always keep the 55 for a quarantine tank and do the 35 as a fuge or vice versa

What are the masurements? What does it have for lighting?
Any LR or sand or mechanical filtration?
Built in overflows?
Sump?
Skimmer?

I would definatly put it on some solid flooring. you can double up the floor suports that you already have. I would brace it up with some two by six under the floor just to help out . My ex was about a ton and she never went through the floor. :scared:

ok to answer all your questions, CarShark we live close buddy! I live in acworth! Yes the house is a nice size and I have the perfect spot for it. I don't have a basement but no worries, I have cement under the hard wood flooring. As for what Im going to do with It. I have no clue! As to what i have. Filtration wise. I have no clue. I pick it up tomorrow and will take much more picture. AND YES Im over my head. But if I left without getting that tank I would have been sick for years! Im definately getting rid of my 55. the wife said I can only have one
. But that's cool. Im really counting on you guys to help me through this, and believe it or not this is the second time this happened to me! a few years back when I was just thinking about getting into the hobby. A guy was selling a 90 gal tank with everything for 150 bucks at a garage sale. I was too broke at the time to get it and when I went back to buy it he had sold it. So I guess this is my up and comings. So stay toon tomorrow for some pics!

Good job!! 250? No idea to put in it? .....Shark :thinking: Rent a U-Haul,DK how you would move out of your house,just get 4 of your buds to help ya move it on a dolly cart or something
That's what my plan would be! But that's one hell of a deal! Can't skip on that!
