decision between peppermint shrimp and arrow crab

i have heard they dont get along very well,if they do tell me!!, but since they each have their own specialty which is harder to get rid of aptasia or bristleworms?

Personally I would avoid the arrow crab....they tend to be sort of like a bull in a china shop. As for the aptasia or bristle worms....well I'd look at getting rid of the aptasia and keeping the bristle worms. The worms can be a positive addition to the micro fauna of your system and seldom pose problems.

Ditto! Peper all the way. I actually saw one of mine today and he's grown twice as big. They are good scavengers and generaly won't bother corals. The downside is that you will almost never see them. I've had luck hand feeding mine along with my cleaner shrimp but since my damsel took a swipe at it he's remained in hiding.

I see one of my peppermints everyday and night, the smaller one stays hidden most of the time. I know both of them are in there from the recent spawning of baby shrimp I witnessed.

go with the peppermint. the arrow crabs will try to grab your fish. the peppermints instead will eat left over food and antispa. plus they are cool to watch when they start swaying back and forth.

honestly,, i would find the arrow crab much more interesting.. but they tend to become agressive,,but you can't say all of them are...are all people caring?

Actually, I have both in my tank. They get along great except for when I feed the tank they both come out and ravage for food! The peps stay out of his way though. I do find the arrow really interesting. I can spend hours just watching the arrow crab clean himself and scour the tank for food. I collected him myself and he has already molted twice in my tank. The only problem happened when I recently added some mushrooms and the arrow decided to see if they were tasty. After the first couple tastes he had had enough, THANKFULLY! But on the safe side, stay with the peps.

Had an arrow for short period of time. My shrimp kept turning up missing. Then I watched the arrow catch and eat one. No more arrow. Maybe just my bad luck. They look neet but I will not take the chance again.

I have both and have never had a problem. The arrowcrab moves so slow and can't imagine him hurting anything. The peppermints hide most the time and only come out when it's time to eat. The arrow crab is amost always in view and he's is really cool to watch. Can't imagine not having him.

You could get both and if the arrow crab starts causing problems you could take it out. They are very easy to catch. I catch them (in the wild) to trade with one of my LFS.
