Which skimmer is easier and less trouble free, an ASM or a Reef octopus? Keeping in mind I travel alot and will be paying someone to do maintenance. Wife will be feeding and thee basics. I'm planning a 90g reef and fish.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

I have an ASM skimmer and I recommend them to everyone but I can't give any advice on the reef octopus.

I have the Reef Octopus 150 in my sump. It works well unless the impeller gets a little clogged, and I have to dial it down to nothing after a water change because it pulls water like mad after one. I have been happy with it though.
