has anyone every had a decorator crab eat their soft corals, esp mushrooms? i noticed mine eating my mushrooms, afterwhich he was removed to the fish only tank. just wondering if i just have a rebel crab on my hands.
I have never had one but have heard more bad things about them eating coral and causing trouble in reef tanks than I have heard good things about them.
thanks, i had caught it in the wild, thought it would be a good addition. i was wrong. but on the happier note, he is now muching down on my hair algea problem in my FOW/lr tank.
I recently had the same problem with my decorator chowing down on my polyp mat. He is currently doing "15 to life" in the refugium, but is doing very well in there. I had caught him in the act of ripping pieces/strips off and happily munching down.
