Today I noticed bubbles in my sand bed up against the glass and also small bubbles rising from my sand. This is the nitrogen rising right? Meaning my dsb is working like it should, right? Just want to verify my thoughts
IMO yes your sand bed is working, and yes that is nitrogen.
As nitrogen gas bubbles out of the system into the atmosphere, inclusion of such a low-oxygen zone reduces nitrates and total nitrogen.
