Denitrator

my nitrates are still high I have been using my high range nitrate test not the low range test for over a year now so now that I have been fighting hair algae for a year I finnaly found the problem very high nitrates well they were at a 100 ppm 3 weeks ago now I am fighting to keep them lower then 10 ppm I think that the hair algae is dieing off but I think that when it dies it makes the nitrates go up alittle can that happen ?? I am using algone once a week and I am doing a 1/3 water change a week (ro/di) I have been looking at a Denitrator do they work and has anyone used them?? thanks

Yes I am Mr. Denitrator, This is the coolest gadget, Mine works Great, A little scarey at first, Going on 4 months NO water changes,drips Menthenol to start the process to start anaerobic bacteria to convert nitrates to nitrogen gas which escapes leaving nitrite, nitrate free aquarium

Not that I know of, the only 2 systems Ive seen were designed in fla,one that I have was made by my tank builder, the other by another guy that he knew ,very similar,both use methenol, it gets used up in the process, I have seen large tanks that have been running since 1986 with no water changes, and with tremendous coral growth,I saw a plate coral in a tank that was 10 years old,
