I experienced exactly the same problem. I had a very healthy tank and was given a blue hippo tang as a gift. Within 10 days all my fish were infected. My hippo tang died and I became desperate. I tried all over the over the counter remedies for reef tanks. Bought a nano and tried to catch my sick fish to treat them, but I couldnt catch them. I felt I was adding more stress. My foxface was riddled!!! Even had parasites on his eyes.
I'd read up about garlic oil and couldn't find the product in stock at any of the LFS's around my home. So I purchased fresh garlic, crushed it and put about a tablespoon into a stocking which I then put into my sump. I expected my fish to die. Within a week they started to show signs of recovery. I replaced the garlic every week for 3 weeks. All of my fish recovered and have been well ever since. This happened about 6 to 7 months ago.
I realize some might think this was insane. But I'm convinced garlic played a role in their recovery.

Hey Sep....thanks for the reply....I don't want to get into an argument over "the sound" of equipment ha ha......I was using the squire/strat as an analogy...my whole family has been in the music business, I know some of the top session guitar players in nashville, and I 100% agree with you.....but there is NO comparison between a squire and an authentic Strat...(preferably an older one) I happened to be strat partial also....but there are 100's of other alternatives....Agreed...Oddly enough I have a squire that I have customized and I love the sound...
www.myspace.com/danreising (shameless plug) if you want to check out some of my "mess-around covers"
Back to the fish....they are looking pretty good, I'm hoping the Kich Ich, if nothing else will buy me time.....to get the refractometer, save up the money to set up an appropriately sized quarantine....and do Hypo....even if all signs of Ich are gone....I do still plan to do this....I just want to read, read, read...
And as far as garlic goes Debbie...from what I have read I think I have no choice but to believe it is beneficial.....by no means a "cure" but beneficial.....my fish have looked 10x better since I introduced garlic treated foods with a varied, nutritional diet...Everything I have read says that the addition of garlic should warrant more research....I agree....
I've settled down a bit today....and am going to follow the directions on this stuff to a T....and hope for the best....for now anyway.....I just hope not to lose my fish....especially my diamond goby....as I sit here right now....this little dude is so cool, I could sit here and watch him for hours....
