Hello, I have a 10g refugium between my DT and sump that is obviously accumulating detritus. I don't have a deep sand bed, I have alot of chaeto, and trillions and trillions of copepods. What sort of animal can I put in there that will be extremely happy and do a good job?

Why not just siphon out all the detritus? The copepods are eating some but I would just siphon out the crud that you can, this is what I do in the fuge area of my sump. It sucks up some pods but they replace themselves soon enough.

I have a 2" sand bed in my fuge...I also have various snails, halloween hermits, a monkey shrimp & a pencil urchin :)

I used to have a sandbed and a few critters as well.
The big reason I changed to barebottom and macro algae only is a fuge (imo) should be purely for water cleansing and pod reproduction and not adding to a bioload. Plus then you also have critters you can't see without some effort. Not saying one is right and one is wrong but just the way I've come to look at it.

I'd like to be a good dad to my animals so if some sort of snail or w/e would prefer those conditions then i'm all for it. I use my fuge for pod reproduction rather than for removal of nitrates. I already show 0 nitrates in my system I don't need any less. So far my goal is accomplished since my chromi lives off of these pods and, I gotta say there are already billions of them.
I ordered one of those hand pump siphoning devices but its on backorder. I hate drinking tank juice, it burns my throat.

My fuge so far has been great and i'm glad I have it. I'd rather the environment be as close to natural as possible without me having to siphon or anything. I will admit that I might get lazy and not feel like drinking saltwater but it would be easier on my inhabitants. I'd be open to having a really FAT snail.. There has to be something out there that would love this environment /shrug..
