Well after failing miserably with a Golden Head Sleeper about 6months ago (couldnt get him to eat regularly) My Diamond goby is a whole nother story, this guy ate chopped up squid today and loves it, he eats PELLETS? as well, loves the MYSIS, and Brine. Maybe im lucky but of the 3 gobys i own/owned these gobys are by far the most agressive eaters and easily acclimated. Easily the ost entertaining fish in my tank as well.

This is my Yellowheaded Sleeper Goby (is this what you had?) and he eats everything. Doesn't matter what it is, he'll eat it. Also very fun to watch, has a lot of personality. Does your Diamond Goby pick up sand and then go up high to release it? That's my only complaint about my Goby, he sometimes makes a mess of the tank and I had to take my GSP off the sand because he give them a sand bath. BUT, I still love him.

Yep, thats what i had, awesome fish, picky eater, tried everything and died a slow painful death, made a mess as well but great personality. My diamond, does not lift the sand up high like the ghs, but sifts in place all day and my sand is tooth white. SHRIMPI how many houses does your GOBY have? Mine has 3 built caves trategically placed, 2 in the front and one in the back, when he feels threatend, WHOOOSH into the nearest cave, LOL

I would have gone with a Diamond Goby (and I actually had one but he didn't eat and died, I think it was more that he was stressed from being QT with two Bangaii Cardinals, but I'll never know for sure), but when I went to the lfs to pick one up, they didn't have any more, but showed me the Yellowheaded one and I thought well, if he does the same thing, ok. I know you didn't ask me this question, but my Goby has built three houses and it's very cute to see him poking his head out.

Can we see pictures of yours?

Mine has two 'main' houses or burrows under these two rocks but he rearranges the tank every day
I think he is trying to bury my gorgonian truthfully. I can believe this little guy can truck THAT much sand evry day. Hes a great critter.

Just becareful because they are jumpers. Mine jumped out of the 2" gap between the glass tank top and the back of my tank. I read of someone else on here who had their goby jump through the grates on the egg crate.
Just want you to learn from our bad luck. I am going to get another one, but before I do I am going to put some window screen material over the gap in my tank. They certainly are the coolest fish

Hello there, this is my Diamond Goby,, such a character! I also threw in some pics of Larry the Lobster, He is a true delight, but such an agressive eater,, eats everything and i mean everything, from NORI to Clams to Scallops, Silverslides,, would eat a chicken leg if i threw it in there, he eats from my hand now, doesnt bother anything, BUT I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY has a distinct craving for live conch, HENCE the EMPTY conch shells, but everthing else he leaves alone, turbos, hermies, fish, etc etc. BUT hes getting to big hes like 6" now and his antenaes extend a foot on either end,, IM SAD im probably gonna have to give him back very soon.
it will be a sad sad day. Im not gonna feed you guys the B.S. that im upgrading to a 150g nest week,
lol
