i recently added a diamond goby & a fire shrimpto my 75 gal tank. this afternoon i saw the fire shrimp feasting on the goby. My question is, s this a natural behavior as both creatures are listed as peacful and i wouldnt think it was a mismatch. does the shrimp go after the bottom dwellers or is this odd behavior?

are you sure he wasn't trying to clean the diamond goby? or was the diamond goby dead and the fire shrimp eating him? Just so you know a fire shrimp is considered a cleaner, and mine used to clean my lawnmower blenny, they just look like they are rougher at the cleaning part then a regular cleaner shrimp is.

i think the gobby might have just died because some other cause and the fire shrimp was just cleaning it :happyfish

I've seen all types of shrimp eat dead fish before, cleaner, peppermint, and fire. It's not out of the norm.
