What is better at keeping your ls nice and clean, the Diamond Goby which I heard on this site is excellent, or the Golden Headed Goby which I also heard is excellent? I have a yellow watchman goby. :notsure:

The #1, Absolute best Sand Sifting Goby is a Dragon Goby!

One thing I just read on the Dragon Goby says it is in brackish water. It also says it looks more like an eel. Anything that looks like a snake or eel by Wife will freak out. We had a small snake on our entry way about 3 inches and she ran to the next door neighbor since I was at work. :scared:

Wrong Dragon Goby. This is a saltwater Goby and looks like a Goby, Not an eel.

I saw that is grows up to 6 inches and is also called the brown banded Goby. Is it more hardy than the Diamond or Golden Head? I'm new and don't want to kill it due to inexperience. Thanks for directing me to the right goby with the sceintific name.

It is extremely hardy. I have one that is close to 6" in my 75G. He doesn't bother a thing and I see him sifting the sand day & night. While not what some would call the most beautiful fish, He's really cool and I like him. :)

Diamond Goby, not even close. I've had both and the Diamond Goby sifts sand alot better and was less likely to get the sand all over corals and your LR. Diamond Goby also was out more often instead of hiding and had a better personality IMO.

I was told that any of the sand sifting gobies actually take the beneficial as well as the unwated things out of the sand and so they wouldn't recomend them, while the nassirus snails only take out the unwanted..... If someone could comment on this it would be greatly appreciated because I had really wanted a sand sifting goby until I heard this???

I didn't think of that, I have diatoms down in the sand and was hoping the sand sifters would get down to it. The snails only did the surface and went to town on the rest. Gotta love those snails. Would love to hear the input on eating the good stuff though.
