it has been up for almost 2 years, yes R/O water from LFS could there water be bad? have 5 powerheads moving besides wet/dry return and H.O.T. return also all perameters are at zero new lights though went from PC's to T5's

You just went to T5's? Welcome to Timsedwards world. He had the same thing happen under similar circumstances. Do a search using T5's and you'll find his thread and what he went through. Basically, it's going to take time. I recently had a diatom outbreak from lighting upgrade myself and a lot of it is going to be just wait it out. Just to help you feel better, every time you look at the ugly stuff, think free phytoplankton for the tank! My thread was "whole new meaning to diatoms" and there is some great info from Broomer5 on it. HTH and good luck.

LOL I have you know i have left that world for a better diatom-free one 
yes I had diatoms for months with my T5's and here is what solved the problem:
1) RO/DI water - priceless, it has to be DI as well.
2) PO4/SiO2 remover from kent
3) better water circulation
Now they are fine, sit tight and they will go.
