Diatoms leaving

I have a 55 gallon tank that I bought used. I have had it for over three weeks. During that three weeks i have been battling incessant diatoms. They have now all but disappeared. Yea!!! Now what.
I was told that green algae would follow but none so far.
I have an emerald crab and will he starve if I don't supplement his diet?

Your emerald will eat other things, like any food that hits the bottom, I always throw in a shrimp pellet or two for my crabs and starfish.

Green algae will appear. I wouldn't complain too much if it hasn't yet come. Don't worry about your emerald crabs, they are scavengers. They'll pick at things on your lr and will eat any food that has fallen to the bottom. We never really feed our emerald crabs, occasionally we will give them a little piece of silverside as a treat.
