Many times the spacing of the MH's on a 36" and a 48" fixture are the same. The actinics are just a few inches shorter. It makes no difference on the appearance of the tank. I have a 36" Aqua Medic Oceanlight 2x250MH/T5 combo on my 72. I would just check on how they are spaced. As far as the fixtures go they sound like some of the cheaper fixtures on ----. They are not going to be high quality, but should work.
