High quality rock is worth $5 per pound or more if it is covered in coralline; that can take a year or more to grow on base rock.

I would say its not a good deal. But a ripe off. Sorry dude but I bought mine from a whole seller that imports in directly from the Island. This same company sells it to those big internet sites. Only 1.99 a pound. Very fresh stuff. cured in a week. He also sells on that bidding place. If you do a search then its the one with a picture of LR with some kind of plant growing crazy out of.

Sorry but you asked. And LR is not heavy. And everybody can get these prices. If you are reading this you can get the same. You just have to pay for shipping.

When buying anything in this hobby, theres always a cheaper alternative, and always a higher priced option.
Bottom line screw what others pay, if you like it then you scored great.
People drive themselves crazy trying to save a few bucks, while money is important, things like rock are single purchases that last for the duration of the tank. The extra you may have spent compared to someone that scoured the earth to save a buck per pound is well worth it if YOU LIKE THE TANK.
