Did you know that we had 58 or 59 states?

he was probably supposed to say stops said states and glitched. its not like he's going to slip up and say "lets Launch missles from subs" when he means "lets get subs for lunch" its really a non-issue IMO. more important would be specific issues instead of a slip up. but some polititian/reporters need every little portion of mud to throw possible. personally I think making a huge deal out of that is silly.

If I am not mistaken, McCain has made that mistake more then one time and leads us to believe he might not have a clear understanding of the middle-east.
It is a funny mistake on Obama's part and shows that he is only human. If anyone truly believes he thinks there are 57 states then they have a major issue.
Show me where it was more than once.

Last I knew we had 50 states. Did we lose one?

Rylan misquoted Osama.
(I'm tired I've been campaining a long time and I haven't had a cig in the last 10 minutes)
Assuming (which is plausible) that obama ment 47 instead of 57. Then his one left to 1 without visiting 2 states alaska and Hawaii would make sense.
Maybe Rylan and obama have finally split in their believes Obama says we have 58 give or take a couple states and Rylan thinks we have 49 states...

But therein lies the point — McCain has struggled with this before.
* On Feb. 28, McCain told the Baker Institute for Public Policy in Houston, Texas, “Al Qaeda is there [in Iraq], they are functioning, they are supported in many times, in many ways by the Iranians.”
* On March 17, McCain appeared on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show and said, “There are al Qaeda operatives that are taken back into Iran and given training as leaders and they’re moving back into Iraq.”
* On March 18, McCain held a press conference in Jordan in which he repeated the same claim, twice, including his insistence that it was “common knowledge and has been reported in the media that al-Qaeda is going back into Iran and receiving training and are coming back into Iraq from Iran, that’s well known.”
Eventually, McCain backpedalled, but only after Joe Lieberman whispered in his ear that he was wrong. Asked why he would repeatedly insist that Sunni al Qaeda was benefitting from training from Shiite Iran, McCain would only say he “misspoke.”
Complicating matters, McCain also appeared confused last week about events in Basra.
As recently as November 2006, McCain couldn’t even talk about his own opinions on the war without reading prepared notes on national television. As recently as March 2007, McCain was embarrassing himself by insisting that Gen. Petraeus travels around Baghdad “in a non-armed Humvee” (a comment that military leaders literally laughed at, and which CNN’s Michael Ware responded to by saying McCain’s credibility “has now been left out hanging to dry.”)

On a serious side note, just goes to show how well Obama speaks off the teleprompter. Although rylan has a good point. I've listened to this (at first I thought It was a spoof) I did hear I"ve got one state to go, which is alaska and hawaii. And the reason I haven't gone there is because there isn't any reason too. Not I"ve got one state left to visit, and I do not plan on visiting Alaska and Hawaii.
The dude needs to walk around with a teleprompter around his neck.

ehh, i empathise with him... if i had to speak in public as much as he does (yes, that's his job) i'd have died from throat constriction months ago.

If I was really interested I'd go back and research it more, but I don't, so I'll take your word for it.
But who is to say Iran isn't helping both? We just don't know.
Although he probably just just stupider like Obama after all he almost switched parties with the dems a couple times over the last 8 years.

I can't wait for the general election debates...I have a funny feeling that McCain is going to be exposed. I think that both Hillary and Obama are very bright compared to McCain.

I think it is going to be in the land of the blind the man or woman with one eye is king. All three are pretty much morons.
