Cant help but be careful. I have a friends place who has one so I put my fish in there for a few days to see if its going to die or not right off the bat.

also I just wanted to point out that I posted this in this section because I dont care about what the people with larger tanks did, because I am only planning to set up a 10 g tank

i quarantine all livestock and live rock that i put into my tank. if its been in another water system, it can carry parasites, diseases, unwanted hitchhikers, etc which will make your life a living hell.

actually this shouldnt be too much of a problem for me, Originally I was worried about finding another tank and having to buy another heater, filter, etc.
But I found my sisters old 5 gallon (she says Its 5, I think its actually 8) and its got a built in filter with a biowheel
I dont think the 5 gallons will be too small, because im only planning on QT one small percula, then maybe another small fish another time. Or I should I pick out the other small fish first and add it first?

I had a local friend of mine buy some new LR the other day and he decided he wanted the "cool" macroalgae to live and grow (quite possibly the worst excuse for not curing it). So I get called over his house today and lets see if I can remember what I saw...
I remember reading SteeliaThunder's thread about those things, and it scared me into QTing everything. I didnt QT a sun coral I received 3 days ago because it looked too small to contain anything and Ive got a peanut worm wandering around.
At least 2 bristleworms
About roughly 10 "cool looking anemones" AKA Aiptasia and Mojano
A feather duster on a rock which isnt so bad
And a monster of a brown hairy crab that is threatening his clowns hosting spot (Gorilla Crab if you want pictures).
I didnt QT my last additions, which were a clownfish and a firefish. The clownfish had contracted brooklynella at the LFS and didnt show signs until day 2 of being in my tank and the firefish had some ich but died soon after. So do I win the jackpot?

I will probably get flamed for this, but when I had my 180 and now I have a 24 aquapod, I have never had a qt tank for anything.
So far in three years in the hobby I have never had ich or anyparasites at all in my tanks.
Had a little bubble algae once,,,,emerald crabs solved that problem.

I guess I have just been lucky

Nevermind me, you win the jackpot. Either you have a great LFS or are lucky, but keep up whatever lucky charms you have haha
