died fish

my lion fish died to day when i got home from school i don't know why today when i woke up i looked at my fish tank and didn't see my lion so i looked around and say that see was on the bottom but still alive i put food in there cause i thought he migfht have been hungry and when hungry and when i got home he was died what happened?¿ THANX FOR YOUR HELP

It could have been a number of things. What are your tank parameters? What other fish are in the tank? Did your clownfish have any markings on it? like a white film or spots. Were the fins decaying? Post more info and I can help ya better.
I had 2 clownfish die because my yellow tang kept pecking at them and they developed an infection.
