Dieing Duster???

i was chekin on my tank last night and i found my duster like dieing sorta i think, the tip of the crown was curled up all around and part of the worm was hanging out, the crown looks dried or somethin (drie under water lol), or SHRIVELED better word
HELP?
oh and my tank is currently Diatom infested and keeps gettin worse?

do you have any shrimp in your tank

yes i have 1 pepermint shrimp in the tank but its always lower in the tank in the many caves

pH 8.1
Nitrite:0
Nitrate: 0
kh?:180
I jus tested my tank and the tank jus got WAAAAYY worse with the diatom, this morning it was ok i could still see some whites on my lr but now everything is brown like COMPLETELY, whhhaattt thhheee heeeellllll

dont u hv a clean up crew? what is ur phosphate level? and as stated above, how old is ur tank?

the tanks been set up for 4 months?
