Hey all...i went out and got my radiant wrasse, put him in w/my midas and gramma,he buried himself in the sand on Thursaday, didnt come out till today as i just got home,i find him above the sand on hsi side breathing heavy..pretty sure hes gonna kick the bucket
Are they sensitive to something in particular?? My other fish are fine! and he doesnt have any bites taken out of him that i can see... :( Any info is appreciated...i feel like such a jerk...

my 6 line did the same thing. just hid for about 2 days, came out, layed on his side and died. so sorry to tell you but he probably is going to die. also monitor your other fish after his death because after he died, my clown and chromis died within a week so keep an eye on your other fish.

i just checked ammonia wichi is at 0,lemme check the others right now...i dont have alot of water around right now to do a change :(,though if i threw some salt in what water i do have, would it do more damage because it hasnt aerated yet or should i do it? gah,ill post the other specs in a moment

never throw salt in tank, you want to aerate at least overnight, 24hs being the best. you don't want to add the saltwater as soon as you mixed either, because it's really acidic which will shock the fish and probably kill them... :happyfish

i meant throw salt into my top off *RO* water, not the tank itself, sorry im so flustered i phrased it bady,i actually have my water made by my LFS,i only do a 5 gallon change a week cuz its a 45 gallon tank..im not exactly sure what salt it is,but its all ive ever used :( I did acclimate, until the temp and salinty were the same as my tank, here are more current specs:
Amm 0
Nitrite 0
PH around 8.4
Sal 1.024
nitrate 10ppm

i did make sure he ate,and he was as active as all get-out,swimmin all over the place...but...and i know im gonna get killed for this, they did just get him in a day or two before..i never usually get a fish that early, but my LFS has an awsome reputation in saltwater and radiants arent around so much and i wanted to snatch him up before someone else did...guess i figured it would be ok,and now i see how much of a dummy i am...i learned my lesson the hard way :(

You havnt posted an update on how the fish is doing...is he alive, or did he kick off?
I'm sorry that you had to learn the hard way, but that happens to everybody, so your not a dummy, just a stroke of bad luck. :]

Don't stress him more than is necessary. Leave him be until he either dies (then remove him) or he improves. Which at this stage is unlikely but not entirely unheard of.

I used the drip method, he was in a little bucket, id say i acclimated him for about 2-2 and a half hours, and before i put him in the DT i used my hydrometer to make sure the salinity was the same :( he seemed great the first night, then buried himself for 4 days and now hes dying..i do have a gramma and im wondering if perhaps the radiant was bullied till this happened..i was at work all day and came home to find him like this after never seeing him since he buried himself :(
