Difference between low,moderate, and high intensity lighting

I am looking for a base line so i can decide where to go with my tank as per planning of coral purchases and placement.
I know this will probably vary, but just a guideline.

A really rough guide:
Low - Normal flourescent
Med - T5, VHO, PC
High - M Halides
I may stand corrected though.

There are many factors that make it hard to generalize, You have to take in consideration the depth of the tank and the placement of the coral in the tank.
A couple questions to ask:
What type of corals do you want, if you want anytype of sps or clam you will want to go with MH, I would recommend you go with MH anyway, The biggest descision will be whether to go with 250w or 400w.

Right now i would say just softies, but i am sure once i am immersed in this i will fall for more indepth corals.
I pretty much just answered my own question...I will trynot to skimp on the lighting.
