Different shark species???

Has anyone seen any kind of shark for sale lately that is not the norm? I am not talking about brown-banded bamboo, whitespotted bamboos, horn, or coral cats. I have been trying to find some of the different kinds and have had no such luck with it. Any help with web sites or stores would be helpful. Anyone else doing this right now? It may be a long journey but someone has to get different species out there for their tanks.
Thanks

What size tank are you planning to use? All the sharks you mentioned won't last in anything less than atleast 200 gallons and the more exotics, ie black tips and bonnetheads, require tanks in the 1000 gallon or more. Sharks are not animals you can just pick up at your LFS and drop in a tank. IMHO these animals deserve their own tank, designed and set up with their special care in mind.

Mattiej and falconred, could you post pics of your tanks. I can't believe you have an 18000g setup! It would be a real privilege! I may even put it as my computer wallpaper! Thanks!

I did not specify but I meant the smaller species of sharks. Black tips and bonnetheads are really not that uncommon but to big for most aquariums. I was thinking of different horn sharks or some of the swell sharks. There are quite a few out there that stay around 2' but not very common to the trade. I would not think of making a purchase of any one of the sharks that get to large for me to house in the future. Just was interested to see if anyone has found smaller uncommon species. Thanks

Cincyreefer,
If you could email me a list of possible species that might be on a list right now? Rather that going and finding different species from different people I would like to see if one person can tell me what is possible to get. I could drive down to pick up the shark. If you could just send me a list of whats available now through your suppliers and the price you would have to charge me for them. Thanks for any time you spend helping me.
Email is matrix2316@excite.com

The regular lists we get through distributors only have the common sharks that you aren't looking for... Any other sharks are specially collected and bought through a friend of ours who has a shipping license. So it may take several months to get a certain shark (assuming it is legal of course), but we can pretty much get anything. Although you can imagine what the cost might be considering someone specially collects it, our friend then buys it and ships it to us, and then we have to mark it up to make it worth our while. My email is Saltyboy21@yahoo.com if you have more questions pertaining to what I could get for you, otherwise just post up here.

I've also been searching for a smaller shark that gives you the same impression that a black tip or a great white give you but on a much smaller scale. I've come across one called a dwarf dog shark which I've read only gets a foot long, and another one that I'm interested in is called a Longnose Spurdog and only get's 50 to 60 cm and can take warmer waters. I'm not sure if these are legally collected and can be legally owned though.:notsure: Does anybody know? And if they are legal if any one knows who can get one, e mail me or post any links or info. here.
