Ok I just purchased the pink xenia shown but why does this pink red sea xenia have the same name as a red sea xenia that has the thinner arms on it?

Gonna play biology here guppster. Xenia is a genus. Within a genus there are different species.

Here let me throw out a generality for you.
Family Xeniidae includes the genus Xenia, Anthelia, Cespitularia, and Heteroxenia.
Xenia pulse, which means their polyps open and close repeatedly.
Anthelia do not.
Anthelia grows in a mat, where as Xenia grows out from a stalk.
Are your coral polyps pulsing? Does it grow from a mat or a stalk?

They were listed as pulsing pink red sea xenia. So the Anthelia is also formally known for the Snowflake polyps right?

Mine stick around, jump onto other things, spread, cover, and just go crazy. Thinking it might be time to do some weeding again -- although I do like them growing up on my back glass I'm going to have to tear them from where I don't want them anymore. I have ideas for my tank... maybe lol.
