Direct Feed Garlic?

Has anyone ever directly fed garlic as a supplement to standard food (i.e. flake, frozen, freeze-dried)?
I thought about pressing some garlic cloves and putting them in the tank but wanted to make sure that wasn't a foolish idea before I did it. Thought it would boost immune system and coloration (even though I'm not currently having any problems).
Any thoughts?

I haven't tried *fresh* garlic, but use liquid garlic daily. I soak their frozen food in it and also lather it on the seaweed sheets.

It is best to crush it as crushing the cells causes the active ingedient, Allicin, to be released.
Since Allicin breaks down quickly (minutes/hour) it is preferable to use the fresh garlic and not the bottled formulas. Garlic has not been extensively tested so there may be other. as yet. unidentified compounds in it that may have some medicinal effects. No one knows for sure.
