Disappearing Ick?

First off here are my tank stats:
Lighting:
1 65watt power compact (50/50, 10000k/actinic)
Filtration:
300 gph canister w/ carbon
22 lbs LR
2-3" LS/aragonite mix
Livestock:
1 Flame angel
1 Coral Banded Shrimp
2 Hermits
Snails
OK with that said, this morning I woke up and my Flame Angel was covered with white spots. I'm fairly new to salt water and have not seen Ick but this looked like the fish was sprinkled with salt from his lips to his tail fin. I decided I would take pictures and post them in this post but by the time I got back from practice (about 2 hours) the fish looked fine  . Could this be Ick that only strikes at night? If anybody can help me I would be greatful.
PS: I have a hospital tank that i could use for the fish. Also, I just started dosing every night with Kalkwasser, I know this is probably irrevelant but I thought I would let you know.
Thanks

Your fish has ick, for sure. You need to do 2 main things.
1. Take the fish out and put him in a hospital tank and treat with a good brand of copper. Make sure you get a test kit to measure the coppperas copper and high levels can kill your fish. Increase aeration in your hospital tank, since the copper will cause the fish to produce extra slime, and the fish will need high amount of oxygen exchange to stay comfortable.Treat fish for no less that 6 weeks...no "Ands ifs or buts"!!!! If you want to cure your fish completely. It takes this long for the ick to run its cycle of adult parasite to egg to hatchling back to adult!!
2. While your fish is getting better, you need to find out why our fish got the ick. Stress in the aquarium brings on the ick. So do a thorough examination of your tanks water quality. Check amonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, salinity etc. If your adding kalkwasser are you adding the correct dosage!
Treating ick is only part of the problem. The main problem is finding out why the fish got stressed in the first place. If your completely baffled take a sample of your water into your local aquarium store for them to test.
Good Luck

One other thing, your tank setup sounds sufficient for now, but realize that you may want to think about a larger tank, if you plan on keeping only fish. A 55 gal is a great starter size for fish only.
