disappearing niger trigger

I have a question in regards to whether or not a two foot snow flake eel could eat a perfectly healthy three and a half inch niger trigger? This appears to be the only answer to the missing trigger. I have a 155 gallon tank with plenty of live rock and have taken each rock out of tank to inspect and can not find the fish at all. I have looked down the overflow sections of tank and behind the tank no luck. It has been two days now and again no signs. Would it be possible for the eel to swallow a fish of this size or is that a stretch. This is just so mystifying to believe that was this the triggers demise

I have checked the eel and gone over the tank three times now and still no clue, the eel has no lumps at all.

hahaha his keyboard broke. I laughed at him the other day. That is one badass SFE.
Look behind the stand. Look everywhere outside the tank

I don't think a SFE would eat a fish that big... Mine is smaller, but never interested in fish... Becides, you would see a huge lump in your eel from the yet to be digested fish.
Have you checked around your tank? He could have gone carpet surfing...

I wouldn't doubt that the SFE got the munchies. Alot of people only think SFEs will eat inverts, but they'll eat fish, when given an opprotunity.
If you've looked everywhere and have really taken out every rock, looked in the overflows, behind and around the tank, etc...'ole SFE got a nice brunch.

then I don't think he ate it, after only 2 days you would still see a lump in his stomach, morays digest slowly so a 3 inch fish should be visible...

That is a queen trigger fish. I went ahead just for the heck of it, tore the tank down again moving all rocks and think the Eel may have gotten him.

I dont know. I had a niger trigger also that would hide in the smallest places. Check your rocks for holes. I dont think he could eat a fish that big. Well i mean he could but you for sure would be able to tell. lol. Good luck . Let us know if you find him

After seeing how much food my 22 inch SFE can pack away it might have happened. MY SFE tonight decided to eat 3 large shrimp the U30 a pound before he was done sucker looks like he ate a freaking Golf Ball know. However this is after eating 2 oz of squid last night also and 2 sliversides 2 days prior.

You should be careful about how much you feed an SFE, theyre one fish that can def overeat.
