discolored damsel, please help!

I do have live rock. I have a 30 gallon tank with about 40-50 lbs of live rock and a 2 inch sand bed. I have 7 hermit crabs and about 50 or so empty shells laying in the tank.

Unless you want to keep a hermit crab tank for some reason, I'd find another home for them so you can move forward with a fish tank.
