After testing both for nitrates and phosphates using salifert kits I have decided that distilled is better. The distilled tested zero for both. The culligan tested 2 ppm-nitrate and .2ppm phosphate. Nitrate tested less in my aquarium than in the culligan!!! Aside from distilled being a bit more expensive, are there negatives Im not aware of??? The brand of distilled water is Absopure, using steam distillation. Culligan claims to use reverse osmosis plus several other types of filter media. Which should I use??????
