DIY Canopy Question

Question for DIY canopy builders. For the wood that rests on the tank itself to support the canopy. Do you just use glue or do you also nail/screw the wooden blocks to the canopy itself? I started gluing them in but really didnt want to put any finishing nails on the canopy where its not necessary. Included a picture here.

When my dad and I made the one for my 10 we used screws and glue, much safer if you ask me so you can have a piece of mind. (not literaly):joy:

I would deifinately use screw (or finishing nails). Wood glue does hold up well in damp conditions if you let it dry thoroughly before exposing it to moisture, but (You knew a "but" was coming) exposing it to wetness over extended periods (years) will cause it to eventually fail.

I glue & use a pneumatic brad gun with stainless brads.

yeah make sure you use stainless steel fasteners saltwater will eat the plating other types of fasteners.
