The float has magnets inside it so that the switch itself can tell where its at. When your water level drops you can set them up to activate a pump to replace evaporated water or kick on an RODI unit.

There are many things you can do with them but here is what I did.
I took a fountain pump and cut open the wire to reveal the three smaller wires in side and cut the green one in half and soldered this float switch into it so that when the switch is off so is the pump and when the water level in my tank drops it allows the power to go to the pump kicking it on until the water in the tank raises the float again.

In tank float switches, one for a backup shutoff.

Resevour that houses pump, heater and power head.

Is that what you were looking for?

Is that clear tube come from a pump? What pump do you all use. My pump has a 1/2" hose attachment.
